Roos Labs is the home for a small body of work by Gary Roos. The pieces don't fit under one neat heading — essays, a long-form thesis, a working framework — but they all orbit the same question.
The question: why is clarity so costly, and who's willing to pay for it.
The thesis. One truth exists; people orbit it at distances determined by their unresolved material. The landing page is the short version.
A longer essay that maps psychological states onto signal theory. Amplitude, frequency, modem, noise floor, phase — not metaphors, structural descriptions.
The working tool. A private, invitation-only app that turns the thesis into guided reflection, a step-by-step model, and an AI-assisted journaling system. Used by parents, teams, and therapists to see interactions more accurately.
The framework is by invitation on purpose. The material is demanding and the writing is direct; neither travels well as clickbait, and the feedback loops that matter — clinicians, practitioners, people doing the work — don't arrive through ads.

Gary Roos is the author of the framework and the essays, and the operator of the site. The design, the writing, and the interpretive work are his. The site runs on DreamHost, uses Plausible for privacy-respecting analytics, and is open about what it collects in the privacy policy.
